Tanks for ZKS Ferrum S.A.

On 28 February 2021 the construction of five large tanks was successfully completed, commissioned by ZKS Ferrum S.A. for the end customer of Hyundai Engineering as part of the big project at Grupa Azoty – Polce. From 12 January 2021 subsequent tanks were handed over to the customer, and then transported by sea to the wharf at the Barkowy Port in Police.

Tanks are designated for the storage of propylene at the Polimery Police facility (West Coast of Poland). They are adapted to the provision specific for the European market – Pressuare Directive ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2.

All tanks were made entirely by CRIST. The scope of work included:

•         cutting, rolling and welding of the shells of tanks,
•         installation of bottoms closing the tank on both sides,
•         equipping tanks with pipelines, hatches, ladders, handles, measuring devices,
•         performing a water pressure test,
•         full range of NDT,
•         loading on transport vessel.

•         height (to the highest point) – 11,13 m
•         capacity - 3485 m3
•         weight of tank– 570922 kg
•         weight of the equipment – 3412 kg
•         weight of pipes – 9282 kg
•         total weight – 613980 kg
