Coronavirus - prevention

CORONAWIRUS causes fever, coughing, shortness of breath, muscle aches and fatigue. It travels by droplet, i.e. when coughing, sneezing or speaking.

 

How to prevent infection?

 

- Wash your hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based disinfectant.

- Cover your mouth and nose with a bent arm or a disposable tissue when you cough or sneeze.

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands.

- Keep at least 1 meter away from people who cough and sneeze.

 

What to do in case of flu-like symptoms: (T ° ≥ 38 ° and breathing difficulties)

 

If you are at home:

- stay at home, don’t come to work – inform your supervisor

- do not come alone to medical centre (unless you are asked) or go to the hospital without prior telephone arrangement and clear instructions where to go.

- immediately notify by phone the sanitary and epidemiological station tel. 58 620 17 98

or

- in case of severe symptoms, call emergency number 112 or report directly to the infectious ward:

- the nearest ward: UCMMiT, ul. Powstania Styczniowego 9B, Gdynia tel. 58 699 86 82

or

- CCHZiG ul. Smoluchowskiego 18, Gdańsk) tel. 58 341 40 41

 

If you are at work:


- avoid contact with colleagues

- inform your supervisor by phone and return home

- do not come alone to medical centre (unless you are asked) or go to the hospital without prior telephone arrangement and clear instructions where to go.

- go back to work when you are no longer have any symptoms and after obtaining your doctor’s permission

 

Information for travelers returning from northern Italy and other countries *


If you have recently traveled to an area where the virus is currently active (* Mainland China, Hongkong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, Lombardy, Italy) in the previous two weeks you must:


- check your temperature twice a day;

- wear a surgical mask around other people, at home and at work,

- limit the number of extra-curricular activities (e.g. cinema, going to restaurants), stay away from places with people at increased risk of illness (e.g. hospitals).
